Managed DNS

The most important thing you need to consider is that your network is only as good as your DNS. When
a user types in, the first link in the connection chain is DNS. In order to reach your
website, a user gets routed to your dns server to find the IP Address of the domain. The user is then
routed to where that IP is located; your content server.
Important considerations we resolve are:

This is typically the most important aspect regarding DNS because there are visible results that can be measured. Here are a few things to consider regarding the performance of your DNS.

The security of DNS has become increasingly important over the years. The information contained within the Domain Name System is extremely sensitive yet is often wide open for attack.

Having control of your External DNS is often extremely valuable and important. There are a lot of companies out there who don’t really care about managing their dns because they hardly ever need to make a change or update a record. However, the majority need
control of their DNS on a daily basis.

When making your final choice on how you want your DNS handled, you need to look into the Service Level Agreements that are offered and what they mean. A lot of the DNS provider’s out there offer a 100% SLA or near to it.

Domain Name Registration

A domain name registry is a database of all domain names and the associated registrant information in the top level domains of the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet that allow third party entities to request administrative control of a domain name. Most registries operate on the top-level and second-level of the DNS.

A registry operator, sometimes called a network information center (NIC) maintains all administrative data of the domain and generates a zone file which contains the addresses of the nameservers for each domain. Each registrar is an organization that manages the registration of domain names within the domains for which it is responsible, controls the policies of domain name allocation, and technically operates its domain. It may also fulfill the function of a domain name registrar, or may delegate that function to other entities.

While DNS registration is not a complicated process, we can complete this process for your company usually within one day. Once you have decided what your domain name will be, we can verify it's availability and completet he registration. If the decision is made to allow our company to do this for you, we will also setup company email services the same day.
Comparing DNS services is not as simple as running a few benchmarks and calling it good. There are multiple criteria where comparisons may be drawn. In this post, we'll present some criteria we believe to be relevant, the techniques we have used to implement them, and the resulting analysis. We use a provider instead of our own DNS servers who are industry experts in this technology. We understand it enough to let companies who are better at.
